Daniel is a brother of Gabrilla's friend, yet this couple actually met through mutual friends. "I had seen him around, but we never really spoke to each other. One day, we were introduced while watching a concert with some friends," reminisced the beautiful bride. After months of casually dating, Daniel proposed to Gabrilla at her best friend's restaurant. "I was surprised to find all of my friends there. He put so much effort into making it one memorable moment, and of course I said yes!" she said.
As both of their families are from West Sumatra, Gabrilla and Daniel had no second thoughts in having a traditional Minang wedding. They quickly reached out to Tiara Josodirdjo & Associates to help out with their wedding planning. "We only had six months to plan everything, and our wedding planner was very attentive and resourceful the whole time," recalled Gabrilla. "They helped to alleviate the stress by providing useful tips that kept us on track, making the entire process so fun and enjoyable," she continued.
The lovely pair started their journey as husband and wife with a solemn wedding ceremony. Both Gabrilla and Daniel wore white attires, symbolizing the purity of their union, paired with exquisite red-and-gold songket fabrics. Afterwards, they held a festive wedding reception at the ballroom of Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta.
This time, Gabrilla and Daniel had on a pair of traditional Minang attires in a mix of vibrant red and gold. The bride's long red kebaya was particularly striking. "It was a contemporary kebaya with a West Sumatran influence. I'm honored and so lucky to have such a talented mother-in-law who made both of my wedding attires that day!" said Gabrilla, "I was also happy to have Vina Panduwinata and Rien Djamain, both best friends of my mother, singing at my wedding."
Reflecting on her own experience, Gabrilla shared a valuable tip for brides who want a relatively stress-free wedding planning experience, "I definitely recommend hiring a wedding planner to help with all the details of your wedding. It made me so much more relaxed, I was able to enjoy the planning and wedding day to the fullest."
