The theme of the shoot started off from the idea of a French Garden Tea Party. Inspired by how the French loved to host tea parties in their own gardens in the past, we conceptualized the shoot to showcase this very gracious way to entertain. In the same way, weddings often echo a similar idea – guests gather and are given fine hospitality by the hosts. We hope to bring out the essence of a French tea party with the use of vintage tableware, laces, vintage cars, french pastries and even a customized handkerchief invite. Instead of the pastel colour scheme we often see in similar tea party concepts, we chose to go with a bolder approach using black, hot pink and blue as the main colours. Shades of greens were used to further accentuate these colours. We find that couples often shy away from having the colour black in their weddings due to an ingrained social belief that it is a taboo. However we think that using it the right way can bring about a look that is sophisticated, timeless and unforgettable. A classic.
