When East Meets West

I was hosting the wedding reception of Amelia Stefanie & Etienne at The Hermitage - Jakarta. I realized how unique yet fun their wedding since they asking several unusual procession such as a grand entrance with 'Andong' (horse-drawn carriage) and hustle dance for attending guest. Warm, fun, and close to each other are their general concept. Both family wanted to bridging the different culture they had. Amel's family requesting me to build the warm atmosphere and arranging the flow of this reception, so I took the initiative to greet Etienne's family and friends with simple Dutch language. I also sang some Dutch song called 'Tulpen uit Amsterdam' because they wanted me to do so :) From the after party session, as I lead the hustle dance, for me it was so nice to dance with most of the guest from Netherland. The entire songs chosen by Amel & Etienne, mostly upbeat today-hits with acoustic concept brought by Urban Vibe. I thought it was just going to be another wedding reception, but it turns out that night happened to be one of my exciting moment in my MC career. Cheers for Amel & Etienne!
