Lemon Grove Wedding

“I started planning this lemon flavor, Mediterranean styled shoot by creating a pinterest board of the colors and mood I wanted to achieve and then involved two extremely talented creatives: Laboratorio Floreale Aiello and Schin Loong at Openinkstand Calligraphy, who interpreted the theme in their own unique way. Our dream was an intimate and romantic wedding, kissed by September warm sun, and the key colors were yellow and gold, with some gold accents in the bride’s accessories and in the beautiful calligraphy, handwritten with gold and green ink. I Giardini di Cataldo made for a perfect location, being a quite secrete garden, out of the tourists’ more beaten paths here in Sorrento. It is a beautiful and ancient citrus grove, the traditional type of plantation in our area. The table was set under a chestnut pergola, with the typical cane roof called “pagliarelle”, from which vine woven baskets full of grapes, figs and flowers hung, and was decorated with heirloom cutlery, a handmade lace runner and an opulent and bright flower centerpiece. The floral decoration engaged both sight and sense of smell as flowers like dahlias, chamomile and queen anne’s lace were combined with fragrant herbs like rosemary, white sage and of course lemons. The gorgeous bride, Debora, wore a vintage “Crepe de Chine” dress, handcrafted in Italy at the end of the seventies, and a heirloom diamond ring, set in yellow gold. Of course we couldn’t forget a lemon-scented dessert, a delicious “delizia al limone”, served on a mini cake-stand for each guest, and a signature cocktail: Lemon Grove Martini.”
