We got to know Biljana and Greg over many months of planning for their big day. On a sunny afternoon before their wedding, we had a chance to hang out with this cool couple. Pre-wedding interviews are awesome because we can learn more about the couple, and it’s a great way for us to tell a fuller story. Not to mention the added bonus that IF, heaven forbid, it rains on the wedding day *GASP* – our couples don’t need to worry about not having any location shots, and they will still have a great wedding film. As the day rolled on, we chatted about their hobbies and interests, like their love of doing outdoor activities together. So it made perfect sense why they picked the picturesque and “outdoorsy” location of Colebee Centre at the Nurragingy Reserve as their ceremony and reception venue. We even talked about their hopes and fears about finally tying the knot after being together for all these years. When Greg was told us how nervous and excited he was about entering a new chapter in their lives, we just couldn’t wait to be there for them on their big day! A perk of being a wedding cinematographer is getting to experience diverse cultures. Biljana’s cultural heritage came through prominently in this Aussie-Macedonian union, with her family staying true to their tradition and dancing the night (and day) away. Macedonians sure know how to party! Their sense of community, spirit of celebration, and passion for life left such an impression in our hearts. Family members danced together to live music in a large circle, hand in hand, having a great time. It looked like so much fun – if we didn’t have to man our videography gear, we would have joined right in! As the festivities continued that night, Greg blew us away with his heartfelt speech. While it seems unusual to talk about one’s final moments in life at a wedding, we were truly touched by how much this day meant to him. This was certainly a day to remember for all of us.
