Perfect location but imperfect organization
The Diamond Chapel itself is most unique, hence why we chose this venue. The ceremony was wonderful but the reception was absolutey disasterious. I would not recommend having the reception there.
1. The reception area was not ready on time as promised. My guests and I had to wait and watch them put it all together, this was an embarrassment to me as I was the one who organised the wedding from Austrslis with the Diamond chapel staff. Therefore photos and video taken of the area had workmen depicted in them, not professional at all.
2. The staff didn't listen to my instructions on how to set the guest tables and the kids table.
3. The dance floor had staples/nails sticking out of it, two guests cut their feet open.
4. The bride and groom chair sign they mixed up, although they had the seating plan plus the Mr & Mrs sign was in front on the table.
5. I specially instructed them to alternate the food, one fish, one beef etc but they asked the guests which they preferred. So pretty much half of the guests got what they wanted which was beef and the other just got the fish. I ended up with fish as all beef had gone and it was cold.
6. The agreement I had with the staff was that the guests would pay for their drinks prior to 7pm and after 9pm as I had only paid for a 2 hour package, which was incredibly expensive. ($42US PER PERSON, PER HOUR) but this didn't happen, only water was served and the guests were told no beverages until 7pm.
7. The drink service was very slow and terrible. Nobody could understand what Johnny Walker was but it was on the menu, they kept bringing out Vodka.
8. I was harassed by staff members to tell them who wasn't drinking as I had only paid for a certain amount of people, ( some don't drink alcohol). I found this to be quite stressful.
9. Then to top the night, after the 9pm drink package had ended, they charged extrodinary prices for drinks!! $27AU FOR A VODKA AND LEMONADE OR JW & COKE.
10. The colours of the balloons were wrong.
