From day one, Melisca had two things certain about her wedding day. First, it will be an outdoor celebration and second, her pet dogs will be a key part of the wedding. "I wanted a small party in which our family and friends could mingle with us. And as I wanted our dog to be the ring bearer, we made sure that the venue allowed pets inside the area," Melisca said. It's no wonder that the couple wanted their dogs to play an essential role, as these very dogs were the ones who brought them together in the first place.
"Danny followed my huskies' Instagram account before making a move by leaving a lot of comments, asking about all things husky as he had one himself," Melisca reminisced. Intrigued, Danny then started stalking her personal Instagram account. After finally exchanging contacts, he mustered up the courage to meet her in person. "He considered me as an expert in the husky breed and wanted to meet to ask for advice, or so he said," Melisca added. They hit it off right away and the rest was history.
After a sweet and intimate proposal in Bali, which was witnessed by one of Melisca's huskies, Simba, the pair started planning their wedding. Even though it was a rather smooth sail, there was a particularly memorable experience. "It turned out that the head wedding planner was traumatized by dogs due to a biting accident in the past. So at the day of the wedding, she was scared senseless when my dogs greeted her and she even started screaming for help. But after learning how calm my dogs were, she finally overcame her fear. She even petted my husky and held my poodle!" Melisca reminisced.
But above all, Melisca was really worried about one thing. "I was both nervous and skeptical about whether the guests would enjoy my sans-entertainment wedding. I only had an acoustic band playing and no extra dancers or performers. I was so scared that the guests would get bored and leave early," Melisca said. As it turned out, she got plenty of feedback from her guests, saying how comfortable the party was. The celebration felt warm and the guests loved it. "Having the guests enjoying my party as much as I loved it, is what I value the most about the whole thing. What a perfect way to start a new chapter in life," said the bride.
