Ashley and her Japanese-Dutch beau Alexander exchanged vows at the penthouse floor of the Tower Club Singapore on a lovely afternoon with Singapore's stunning urban skyline stretching infinitely before them. With striking gold details, marble flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows, towering pillars, framed art and luxe furniture, the couple's wedding exuded a classy feel and was a visual feast to be remembered.
The Chinese tea ceremony started off the couple's big day and was a myriad of vivid colours with the couple and their families donning traditional Japanese kimonos. Ashley was wrapped in a vibrant gold and red kimono with floral prints, while Alexander looked dashing in a kimono made of black silk. "It was interesting because the Japanese side of the family did the Chinese tea ceremony whilst dressed in traditional Japanese outfits," says Ashley.
The bride changed into her wedding dress for the ceremony— a capped sleeve A-line lace and tulle gown from Z Wedding — and looked absolutely radiant as she entered the hall at her father's side. Her dashing groom togged a sharp charcoal-coloured suit and vivid red tie.
A sumptuous Chinese lunch proceeded for 60 guests at Tower Club's restaurant. Later that evening, the couple hosted a friends-only sundown after-party at Tiger's Milk located on the rooftop of The Club Hotel.
Decorated with romantic fairy lights and the downtown cityscape in full view, the outdoor affair was a dreamy one filled with free-flow drinks and canapes all night long. Despite the rain which poured relentlessly every night before the wedding, it was fortunately warm and dry that evening!
"I loved it!" Ashley laughs when asked about the day's events, "I was so relaxed on the day and I know my friends had everything handled so I could just enjoy the whole process."
