It's natural to have ideas of what sex will be like once you're married. With or without knowing it, it's likely we've bought into a few marriage myths. Some people say that marriage leads to less sex, or having kids will take all the sex out of a marriage. But most of these impressions come from your married friends, novels, shows, and movies. But the good news is that reality can often be better than any myth, and you no longer have to believe the myths ever again.

Myth #1: Your husband's sexual desire for you will be decreased.
The myth is that once a guy marries you, he is no longer interested in having sex with you because it's no longer a challenge. After you get married, the interest is more about keeping it exciting for both of you. Just don't forget to flirt with him so he feels the urge to pursue you.

Myth #2: Your husband will want to have sex at any time.
Yes, it is true that men may have a larger amount of testosterone, a big driver of libido. But they aren't always in the mood for sex. They are nervous to be seen as less 'manly' by turning down their wives for sex. So don't take it personally if your guy turns you down every once in a while. Just like you, maybe they just want to have some rest.

Myth #3: Your husband won't watch porn anymore.
A lot of wives think once they've tied the knot, their men will cut back or stop completely. But masturbation is not a reflection on how they feel about their wives. These different experiences satisfy different needs and desires for a person. What if he told you that he found you repulsive for the secret fantasies you harbor, or for let's say, reading Fifty Shades of Grey? I'm assuming you would feel hurt and ashamed, and it's safe to say he feels the same way when you condemn him for porn watching.

Myth #4: You have to look at your best all the time, to keep his attention.

Don't be too self-conscious of what you look like, because it is just in your head. Your husband thinks you're the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, whether you're 10 days or 10 years past your wedding day. So let your body-image worries go, and have fun.

Myth #5: Kids take all the sex out of a marriage.
Women go through a period of healing after labor and parents go through a period of poor-quality sleep. But it's important to keep in shape to keep your energy up. Don't hesitate to get helps from professionals or your relatives to babysit once in a while, so you can go out with your spouse on a romantic date.
