A love for music was what brought together these wedding singers from Sparkle Live Music, Alfred and Kewei. And it was only natural that they threw a musical wedding extravaganza at the Island Ballroom, Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore.
The groom, who's also Channel U's Project Superstar champion, got friends from the show to perform for the 650 guests during lunch. Subsequent acts included musicians from Sparkle Live Music and The Freshman; while Kewei's sister, Kexin, did a surprise number with their father who played the erhu and flute. And their ballroom march-ins were just as entertaining: For the first, Alfred and Kewei walked to a recording of their own original duet, and the second was a flash mob performance by Micappella. Coupled with videos produced by Ideally Yours (visit www.alfredxkewei.com), guests were wildly entertained.
At the outdoor solemnisation, Kewei dazzled in a beautiful mermaid lace gown from The Prelude Bridal, complete with a dazzling garnet-and-diamond necklace, and pink diamond earrings sponsored by Genesis Global. At lunch, she wore a princess ballgown with sheer back and crystal embellishments by Caramel & Co, followed by a sexy pink number by Amanda Lee Weddings.
Much of the décor had an Art Deco theme — from their logo designed by Pearlyn and Paper, to the staging and backdrop, and the candy bar set covered with pearls, black and gold details, and giant silhouettes of the couple, designed by StichxMarker. Kewei's favourite detail is the 20-seater VIP table that looked stunning with a mini tree as the centrepiece.
The couple credits the success of their big day to wedding planners at Chère: Weddings & Parties. "Many guests said it was the best wedding that they'd ever attended. The only problem was that it overran by over an hour and we rushed through our thank yous and goodbyes!" laughs Kewei.
