Paris undoubtedly still holds the crown as the capital of fashion and especially couture. In fact, it is the only city that has a special fashion week that showcases the work of couturiers. Which makes it all the more impressive that Indonesian couture designer, Sebastian Gunawan was invited to showcase not one, but two separate collections at the biannual Paris Haute Couture Week last July.
Aside from launching Sebastian Gunawan's collection for COUTURíSSIMO, the celebrated couturier also showcased his Autumn/Winter 2016 collection in Paris. The collection was inspired by Marchesa Luisa Casati, a woman of Italian nobility known for her eccentricities who once said "I want to be a living work of art". Tender feminine colors intertwine with a touch of the art of Russian ballet, resulting in a beautiful collection worthy of the prestigious event, which has showcased works by esteemed haute couture houses such as Valentino, Dior, and Maison Margiela.
