Bathed in the dazzling golden rays of the Floridian sunset, Filipino nurses Roy and Olivia Chua recited their wedding vows at the idyllic brick-walled grass courtyard of the Bella Collina Country Club in Montverde. Against this fairytale-country-wedding background, the bride looked every inch the summer sylph in her white diagonally pleated mermaid gown while her man looked sharp in a three-piece grey suit.
The location was a cosy enclave. Picture redbrick walls, spiralling black iron staircases, teak floors, and marble rooms set against the backdrop of Greek murals surrounded by lush foliage all saturated with the same warm, butterscotch glow of a summer sunrise.
The wedding dinner was a rowdy and spirited affair held at one of the club's ballrooms. Creamy floral centrepieces flecked with smaller fuchsia blooms adorned the tables. Tiny poufs of fresh flowers interspersed with candles lent an ethereal yet familial aura of a garden party, except that this was held with the comfort of being indoors.
The bridal party got off to a rousing start with a mass dance of friends and family. Before the happy couple retired to their private chambers, Olivia and Roy serenaded each other and walked through a procession of sparklers – a fitting end to the glittery evening.
