"It all started when I organized my sister's wedding. From that moment on, I simply found my passion in the wedding industry," said Stephen Tan, founder of Project Art Plus Wedding & More. Meeting new people excites Stephen more than anything, let alone his clients' different characters and personalities. With that passion in mind, Stephen and his team are happy to offer an attentive service long before the wedding day. "We help the couple to create a wedding concept and assist them in hiring the right vendors," explained Stephen. "On the big day, we start as early as when the bride does her makeup and even help with the after-party, if there is one."
A particularly unique wedding left a deep impression for Stephen. "It was an intimate wedding at a private villa surrounded by spectacular nature in Leduk, East Java. The holy matrimony took place in a valley, where the couple vowed solemnly in front of a majestic waterfall, followed by a romantic dinner in a garden. We had to clear some areas to make a pathway and even covered some areas with grass. We also built a portable kitchen and a restroom area to ensure the guests' comfort. It was really fun and unforgettable."
Stephen believes that chemistry and communication between the wedding organizer and the couple are the two most important things when planning a wedding. "Sometimes, there are things that are not communicated to us. This seemingly simple mistake can lead to bigger problems," said Stephen. His team even nearly had to deal with a runaway bride situation. "We once had a bride who was too afraid to face her own wedding. One day before the wedding, she asked us to cancel everything. We took a very personal approach and tried to calm her down. Gratefully, she chose to withdraw her decision and still walked down the aisle. Now, we often meet her and her happy family," recalled Stephen.
Even if you don't have much doubts in getting married, Stephen notes that there are a few things that must be considered by every couple. According to Stephen, a grand wedding should be focused on the main stage and how to keep all the guests entertained. "Couples need to be open to many possibilities and options, and more importantly, prepare the budget accordingly."
For an intimate wedding, on the other hand, the focus lies on having time for the bride and groom to mingle with their friends and family. Couples who dream of a smaller celebration should also pay attention to their guest list. "Always keep your number of guests consistent. It won't be intimate anymore if you keep adding more guests."
Whichever kind of wedding you have in mind, we're sure you can feel at ease when you entrust it to the capable hands of Project Art Plus Wedding & More.
