A perfect wedding proposal. That was how Johnathan asked for Patrina's hand in marriage. Inside a church, suddenly people started playing music and then Johnathan picked up a guitar and sang, "I thought about, the one thing I can't live without, I thought of you." He wrote and recorded the song for this very special day and to make it even more special, he invited their family and friends to witness the happy occasion. It's no wonder tears were shed and a 'yes' was given, turning his hope into reality.
Even though the proposal was unforgettable, their wedding day was even better. They held their wedding ceremony at a church decorated with ribbons and flowers in white and other soft colors. "The St. Peter and Paul's church has always been my dream church to wed in," recalled Patrina. The delicate colors were also seen on the groomsmen's and bridesmaids' attire. The bridesmaids were clad in peach and ash gray, while the groomsmen balanced them out with navy and black suits.
After the ceremony, the reception was held at Crowne Plaza. "The hotel's minimum table coincides with out number of guests. One tip we can share is don't settle for the hotel just because you like it and force yourself to invite people just to fill the tables. Plan your guest seating arrangement early so you know how many confirmed tables you have," Patrina said. With their closest family and friends attending the happy occasion, they closed the wonderful day with singing and dancing. "We're so lucky to have non-demanding parents, so that it helped to keep your tables to the minimum," said the bride.
Patrina then shared another obstacle that she experienced during the wedding planning process. "I forgot the true agenda of the big day a lot of times and luckily John was there to remind me. We shouldn't let the social media influence us in what constitutes to a perfect wedding. Each wedding is perfect in its own way, so don't live for the photos, live for the marriage. John and I didn't choose the most auspicious day nor kept traditions that we felt pointless, because we felt that it doesn't play any part in keeping the marriage strong. You are about to marry the love of your life and nothing else should matter. Most importantly, enjoy yourself and rock the wedding!"
