Known for her avant garde red carpet style, it makes perfect sense why Goldheart chose actress Rebecca Lim as ambassador for its contemporary chic Mode Gold collection.
The style maven sits down with us during her first public appearance as spokesperson for the brand to talk about her love for all things gold.
Tell us a bit about your relationship with gold.
Growing up, my family has always talks about the good investment value of gold. It's the best kind of jewellery to pass on to the next generation as it can be shared amongst family members. In fact, my siblings, including my brother, were all given pieces of gold jewellery as kids. Till today, I still have a personal preference for gold accessories, especially rose gold. Gold is classic, luxurious and stylish, everyone should own gold!
You have two siblings getting married soon. Will you be advising them on how to select their jewellery?
Yup, they look to me for fashion advice quite often and I told about Goldheart's wide range of wedding jewellery. In fact, we just went shopping at Goldheart for their upcoming weddings! I took my mom, grandmother and aunt and they bought a piece each for themselves and for the brides-to-be.
Do you think Mode Gold can replace traditional si dian jin jewellery?
Definitely! I've many friends who end up keeping their traditional si dian jin jewellery at home as the designs don't match their outfits. If you're not that strict, I would highly recommend buying contemporary si dian jin because you can wear them as everyday jewellery.
What are your style tips for wearing gold?
I believe the accessories should match with what you're wearing. If it's a high collared gown, then probably just earrings and bracelets. But if it's a simple tube dress, draw attention to the neck with a statement necklace. Most importantly, choose something you like and feel beautiful in. After all, weddings are a once in a lifetime event and you should feel good to look good.
If you could bring only two gold items on your overseas trips, what would they be?
I always have necklaces, rings and bracelets on standby. My wardrobe is quite minimalistic so I require accessories to jazz up the attire. For my overseas trips, I would bring a pair of simple gold stud earrings and a bracelet; these items will match everything.
