Garden cocktail reception, check. Historical location, check. Soothing 'live' music, check. Giant rocking chairs (ala Alice in Wonderland), double check. With these basic essentials in place coupled with a few decorative details, Lok Hin and Vernessa's wedding came to life…and all it took was 1 month of planning!
Photographed by Moments by Rendy, the out-of-towners tied the knot at Alkaff Mansion's pristine garden followed by a classic European sit-down dinner for close friends and family. It was intimate, exquisite and full of warmth – just how weddings should be.
Most of the decorations were done by the bride and her 'wedding elves' using a cool colour palette of peach, light pink and white. "Less is more; people won't remember what they see but they will remember how they feel," says the bride.
We love how the couple didn't take themselves too seriously and enjoyed being in the moment. They slowly mingled with guests and sat on their rocking chairs while taking in the joyous spirit of the day, rather than worry about contingencies.
"Weddings are about the moment and sharing the happiness, which money cannot buy. Make your celebration meaningful and not just 'another wedding' for your guest," she advises.
