Singapore-based Filipino lovebirds Jose Totanes and Karen Plandez threw a dreamy wedding two hours away from their Manila hometown at the tranquil city of Tagaytay.
They tied the knot in a sacred church ceremony at San Antonio Ng Padua Parish and hosted an outdoor reception at Balai Taal boutique resort overlooking the mystical Taal Volcano and Lake Taal. The venue was given a romantic rustic theme with blush-coloured blooms, green succulents, burlap, twine, lace and lots of woody elements. Even the bridesmaids came dressed in pastel gowns while the groomsmen went for a dandy look with suspenders and bow-ties.
"Everyone stayed up till the wee hours of the morning dancing and singing. It was a chilly night but our hearts stayed warm from all the outpouring of everyone's love!" gushes Karen. She kept it classy in lacy fit-and-flare gown with illusion neckline and long sleeves, while Jose suited up in a monochromatic three-piece number.
"It was quite a challenge to plan it as we live in Singapore but Jose put me at ease and planned the whole wedding himself! Believe it or not, he's was the one reading all the bridal forums and calling up the vendors. He did everything from styling our engagement shoot to designing the wedding bands and planning the wedding reception. I must say, I'm one lucky spoiled bride!"
