John and Shahirah's traditional Muslim wedding

The opportunity to feature this wedding got us excited, not just because it's a Muslim wedding, but one that cross-culturally unites American boy John with this Singapore bride, Shahirah.

Photographed by Fid Photography, the bride was a picture of loveliness in a simple but elegant gown with lacy long-sleeves and illusion neckline, while her groom suited up in grey wearing a traditional songkok.

Together they tied the knot in a religious ceremony at An-Nahdhah Mosque with loved ones present. Thereafter, they threw an all-afternoon banquet reception for 500 guests.

"I love the simplicity of this wedding. The couple was very natural and easy going, and very easy to shoot," says photographer Fid.
