Get married at home? Why not! Out-of-towners John Navarro from the US, and China-born Jolin Cai, did exactly that in a charming at-home ceremony at their rented condo in UE Square.
They approached Chere Weddings & Parties to decorate the place with a nude palette of ivory and pink blooms sourced from Sing See Soon. "Apart from giving us the freedom to propose and decorate their venue, we really love the idea of a home wedding, which made the whole ceremony more intimate and truly homely," says wedding planner Vivian.
The decorators worked with the natural look and feel of the condo which had lots of raw fibres, nude hues and rustic woody elements. "We made use of their curtains as the main backdrop and added floral garlands to create a draping effect that softened the living room, and a table centerpiece of white flowers for a romantic feel."
The solemnisation was presided by Justice of Peace, Dr Eileen Aw, and witnessed by 12 close friends. The bride dressed in an understated V-necked ivory gown and walked-in to Westlife's 'Beautiful in White.' "It was a very simple and classic wedding which we both love," admits Jolin. A few months after that, John and Jolin flew to China to host a wedding banquet for the bride's family.
