Intimate, elegant, and charming were the three things Steven and Aie wanted their wedding to be, and it turned out even better than they expected. The two were introduced in an event by Aie's brother and eventually got together. For the proposal, Steven prepared a wonderfully romantic gesture. "Steven proposed to me with two meticulously-made flower boxes. One with the letters "WYMM" (Will You Marry Me) made up of purple flowers written on a bed of white flowers and another black box with a ring in the middle of white flowers," said the bride.
After Aie said yes, they began a wedding preparation journey that took approximately 7 months with the help of talented, professional vendors under the creative direction of Flying Bride. The couple went with a botanical elegant theme with a refined color palette of white, dusty pink, and dusty purple with hints of black, grey, and gold. This color palette was chosen with the help of Flying Bride, equally weighing Steven and Aie's preferences.
Orchids became key visuals of their wedding day as they were especially meaningful to the couple; thus the flower described by Steven as elegant and masculine can be seen prettily gracing their wedding decoration, invitations, souvenirs, and other wedding essentials. That's not all; orchids were also incorporated into the dress Aie wore to the reception. "My favorite is the orchid lace cape for my reception and the holy matrimony. Yefta Gunawan chose a specific classic lace with a seashell pattern over nude lining and pearl beading which was extremely chic and timeless."
As the couple wanted a small wedding with no more than 200 guests and a specific theme in mind, they chose Khayangan Estate as their designated venue. "We fell in love with it at first sight. It was quiet, remote, and private, plus it had a breathtaking view! The Javanese architecture also made it feel so homey and warm, it was perfect," Aie said.
And indeed it was such a charming wedding. It's such a joy to see how all the elements harmoniously came together into a graceful and elegant affair. The couple was very grateful with how the wedding turned out. "The wedding was dearly intimate and filled with people we love the most; we really treasured sharing this precious moment with the ones closest to our hearts. The lovely people who helped us in the planning were also very professional. It was such a smooth planning. They intently listened to all our ideas and selections and finally delivered something that exceeded our expectations. It was not at all stressful; we were excited and super happy."

A note from Flying Bride:
A few events and inspirations helped me create the perfect mood board for Steven and Aie. The elegant flower boxes Steven used to propose inspired me to add the colors white, purple, and hints of black to the palette as well as the floral decoration. The blush color came from the rose quartz ring that Steven gave to Aie in the course of their relationship; thus the blush color in the palette was used to represent the couple's blooming love.
Steven didn't want a too sweet pastel and feminine wedding so we decided to incorporate gray, which is Aie's favorite color, into pastel pink and purple, creating dusty versions of the colors. Lastly, to harmoniously combine all the wedding decoration with the surroundings of Khayangan Estate, we added some greenery to the decoration to blend the setting with the alluring nature, to evoke a botanical feel that's strikingly elegant.
