An Open Air Pre-Wedding Session in Jeju Island

Samantha, social media influencer and PR for a luxury fashion brand, went out to Jeju Island for a pre-wedding shoot with Hosan, her fiance. Out in the wilderness, they envisioned the idea of an urban mermaid tale in a modern setting. "I have always loved the sea and the idea of mermaids growing up, but I didn't want to do a typical mermaid-in-water shoot," Samantha revealed.

Out of the many things that had to be done during the shoot planning, Samantha was immensely excited when working with the mood board. After gathering all the ideas, she quickly secured her dress designer and photographer, which were also her good friends. "Working on the designs of my dresses with Caramel & Co. was like a dream come true and the dresses truly complemented the scenes on my mind," she said.

Despite the well-planned shoot, it's never easy to predict the weather during fall season. Not only was the daylight shorter, but the winds were also too strong and unfortunately made Samantha froze as she wore such delicate tulle dresses for both locations.The bride-to-be also shared one of the most thrilling moments during their shoot. As the lovebirds were posing for the final scene on the beach cliffs, Hosan almost got swept away by the high tide which came in within minutes. Thankfully, all the crew managed to capture some reels just in time, before the sea water smeared the seaweed-covered stone.

"Even though some parts of the pre-wedding shoot weren't like what I originally wanted, the result turned out so well. I'm so blessed to work with a team I trusted and had good synergy with. They were lively, patient, and everyone carried a spirit of excellence!" Samantha disclosed.
