An Elegant Fusion Wedding in Bali

People tend to associate grand weddings with prestigious ballrooms, but it doesn't always have to be the case. Why don't you try something different and turn a grand wedding into an outdoor party in Bali? Your guests will appreciate the refreshing air, and you can enjoy Bali's stunning views with your beloved. Marsella and Eric presented a different and creative party that can be enjoyed by just about everyone. Both coming from Chinese family backgrounds, the couple made a smart use of Tea Pai, a traditional tea ceremony in which family members give money or precious jewelry to wish them luck and prosperity. Both had on Chinese traditional cheongsam, looking so vibrant and beautiful even before the reception started. We adore the oriental elements and traditional red color adorning the hanging lanterns, banners, and even the carpets. We also love how the couple prioritized the guests and even had lots of surprises for them to enjoy, from delicious meals to entertaining fireworks and dances. The festivity was continued in the after-party, which was filled with Latin dancers and some great music to dance to. The party ended with the release of LED-lit balloons that made the sky even more glowing.

Something from the happy bride:

We had such a wonderful Bali wedding, held at the beautiful Taman Bhagawan. It took us almost a full year to prepare, but the end result truly paid all the hard work off. The tea ceremony was traditionally held at the Royal Santrian Villa. We infused classic Chinese color of red and gold to symbolize luck and prosperity. I was dressed in a beautifully embroidered cheongsam while my husband wore a changsan made by his mother. A friend of ours gave us a mini-figurine carved with our likeness dressed in traditional Chinese ceremonial clothes and we put it on display as part of our decor. As for the wedding ceremony, we combined Chinese and Western elements into a venue that's already inbuilt with ethnic Indonesian flair. We used towering red banners, huge lanterns, and a red carpet to greet the guests' arrival and show our pride of being Chinese. We also use sturdy long-lasting flowers like heliconia to symbolize a strong marriage. Once the guest reached the reception area, the color theme has changed into a more vibrant color that fits the outdoor ambience of the garden party. Magenta, pink, purple and a touch of marsala are applied to decorate the dinner tables. We placed a thank-you gift on each dinner plate. The holy matrimony area is a little wooden gazebo decorated with hanging white orchids. The color theme adapts a classic elegant western wedding with white and green themes. We include flower jars along the guests chairs for sweet simplicity touched. We had a flowing entertainment program involving Balinese performers, water drummers and samba dancers. The after-party was a big celebration of song and dance, desserts and drinks. Latin dancers were employed to encourage and teach the guests to dance and join them on the dance floor. Fireworks started going off at 9 pm which signals both of us to perform our first dance. Everyone was given an LED-lit balloon which we released together to mark the end of our daylong event.
