Jannah and Gerardo met for the first time at a birthday party back in early 2011. Their first attraction to each other was just as described in the movies, with sparks flying and not being able to take one's eyes off the other. The rest of the party seemed muted, and the only sound that existed was their conversation. From the start, the two seemed like an odd pair. Gerardo was a marching band geek, and Jannah was the captain of a cheerleaders team. The two immediately became a couple, knowing that they'd have a lot of challenges to face due to the difference in their age.
"We both previously lived in Fresno, California. Then, Jannah left to study in the Philippines for the next 2 and a half years, and I had to stay behind. She was 20, and I was 18, but we both held on to the promise that we'd try and make it work," recalled Gerardo. However, as time went by, things became more difficult, as birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions were continually missed. Eventually, the two had to part ways to grow and mature.
Nevertheless, true love like the one Jannah and Gerardo had was triumphant. After Jannah returned to the States, the two had met occasionally even though they were still miles apart. Nothing could stand in their way when Gerardo finally graduated from college, and the two lovebirds moved in together in late 2016. Not long after, Jannah and Gerardo finally got what they prayed for and had the wedding of their dreams, surrounded by friends and family.
For the wedding celebration, the couple decided to go for an elegant and minimalist theme. The goal was to make the night feel like a big family dinner. They prepared a small guest list, so that they'd be able to spend more time with each guest and have a relaxing time during the reception. "We are very simple and low-key in our everyday life, so we wanted that to show in our wedding," explained Jannah. She also chose white as their main decoration palette because it is a classic that is always in style, much like the look that they went for during the holy matrimony which was described as romantic and timeless. "Decades from now, we want to look at our wedding album and feel like it stood the test of time," said Jannah.
