Set at the cozy and inviting Wyl's Kitchen restaurant in Jakarta, Sam and Cela's wedding is one that you won't soon forget. "I think the overall theme was just us being ourselves. Aside from that, we wanted to have flowers and decorations with a rustic feel," explained the bride. "We believe that there are no specific rules that make a wedding beautiful. I mean, the love itself is already beautiful!" she continued. Cela happens to co-own the hand-illustrated goods art project, Liunic on Things, so she decided to create her own wedding invitations, welcome sign, and even favors from scratch.
On the wedding day, Cela stood out in a sheer long-sleeved maxi dress adorned with floral cotton embroidery. To add a more romantic vibe to her bridal look, she paired her gown with a baby's breath flower crown and held a bouquet of fresh blooms loosely tied with velvet ribbons. Samuel also looked charming with his navy blue suit and a boutonnière that combined white flowers with greenery.
Throughout the celebration, Sam and Cela's friends from the Madeline Band played songs that the couple personally handpicked. "The wedding playlist was especially important for me. Every song, from the entrance and first dance songs to the one we sang together, had a special meaning for the both of us," Cela explained.
For those of you who are planning to throw a DIY wedding, Cela spilled some valuable tips. "You don't have to use expensive vendors to create a beautiful wedding. Make it personal, do whatever you want. Don't stress over small details, just focus on the big details that matter to you," she said.
