Earlier this week, Vanny and Lucas shared their breathtaking pre-wedding photos taken on Mount Bromo. They seemed like such a match made in heaven, you'd be surprised to hear that their wedding proposal didn't run smoothly at first!
"Lucas actually tried to surprise me several times, yet I always managed to foresee his plans," recalled Vanny. After failing for the umpteenth time, he finally tried a different, completely unexpected approach. One simple day, Vanny fell asleep and Lucas quietly placed the engagement ring on her finger. "It was the most beautiful moment in my life, it felt like a dream. I didn't see it coming at all," said the beautiful bride.
The couple quickly planned not one, but two separate celebrations in Bali and Yogyakarta. Villa Plenilunio was chosen as the setting of their intimate wedding in Bali. "The guests were 120 of our closest friends. We were truly honored to have them as witnesses of our wedding vows," said Vanny. The gorgeous villa was decorated in a simple, rustic theme by The Bloomingbuds. "They really nailed all of our requests! We just loved every detail of our decorations," added Vanny, who happens to be the renowned makeup artist, VA Makeup Artist.
While preparations for their destination wedding in Bali took one year, the pair's ballroom reception in Yogyakarta was a lot easier to plan as their parents helped out a lot along the way. This time, they chose a completely different wedding theme of art deco with shades of white to reflect Lucas's love of all things vintage.
Once again, the couple entrusted Lucas's friends-slash-colleagues from Morden to document both of their celebrations. "They're just like family to us, and just like all the other vendors, they did such a great job," said Vanny, "But if I had to choose my favorite wedding vendor, it would be me since I did all the makeup by myself!"
