A Romantic Wedding with White-and-Gold Details in Greece

For Katrina and John, a wedding in their home city of Perth, Australia would be too large, impersonal, and over too quickly in one night. "We were so busy in the past few years that we ended up having a long, five-year engagement. The idea of throwing our dream wedding was starting to fade, but I still wanted to have that magical day," said Katrina. "We've been lusting over Greece since our 2011 European trip and had always said that we would come back," she continued.

One day, Katrina and John made a spontaneous decision to follow their dreams. They contacted Santorini-based wedding planner, Stella & Moscha Weddings and booked a spot for their upcoming anniversary date. As you can see from the photos above, the results were breathtaking. "Looking over the caldera from the amazing terrace of Le Ciel just before the ceremony makes you want to stop for a minute and try to take it all in," recalled the wedding planner. Everything on that day was perfect; the bright summer sun shined upon the picturesque scenery and white flowers. John was waiting at the altar as the children enjoyed the open space and the harp's melody completed the romantic atmosphere. Soon after, Katrina walked down the aisle in a stunning wedding dress by Galia Lahav. The moment she had been yearning for had arrived at last.

Their photographer, George Pahountis captured every moment perfectly; the heartfelt vows, stylish guests, and simple yet luxurious decor that blended perfectly with the vintage character of La Maltese in Imerovigli. Gold details added a classy finish to the all-white setting, letting the golden tones of the sunset take over during the reception. Another highlight of the night was the wedding cake. The elegant concoction had gold shavings and stark white hydrangeas, playfully combined with elements of the children's favorite superhero. "Batman couldn't make it to Santorini this summer, so we had to make do with the best possible substitute," said Karina.

Looking back at her wedding day, this is what the beautiful bride said, "It was the best decision we had ever made. It was the perfect, epic three-day sun-filled celebration with breathtaking views and spectacular sunsets with our best friends and family."
