Isabelle and David met during an internship seven years ago. "We quickly grew close because of our shared values and interests. But soon after, I set off to the United Kingdom to pursue my undergraduate studies, while he remained in Singapore to pursue his," recalled Isabelle.
They kept in touch occasionally despite the distance, and their love story finally got a fresh start when Isabelle returned to Singapore three years later. "Before long, catch up sessions became dinner dates, and occasional texting grew into hours-long phone calls about anything and everything," she reminisced. "Two years into our relationship, David proposed, and I gladly accepted to walk this journey of life together with him," said Isabelle.
The pair share a love for travelling and immersing themselves in other cultures. However, they each have a different idea of the ideal vacation. "David loves the cities—the bright lights, the energy, the dynamism. On the other hand, I prefer the countryside—the nature, the serenity, the rest," Isabelle added.
Isabelle and David decided to apply these different preferences into their own relationship and present them in an array of stunning pre-wedding photos. "We wanted a location where we could capture nature in its full glory, to represent the 'countryside' element of our relationship," said Isabelle. With its still lakes and expansive skies, Banff became their first photo shoot setting where photographer, Justine Milton snapped away.
London, on the other hand, symbolizes the "city" dimension of Isabelle and David's relationship. This time, they asked Sue's Photography and FYi Photography to capture their unforgettable moments. "Lights, cafes, flea markets—these are the quintessential elements of one's life as a student; spaces not unlike those that we traversed when we were students, albeit at separate times," Isabelle explained.
