Mariella Garcia of 37LA's love for fashion and design proved to be the driving force that made her decide to craft her own wedding gown despite other people's apprehensions. She was told that she'd stress and obsess too much about making her dream wedding gown. This was indeed true, but it was her knowledge and passion for dress making that became her center through the whole process.
When the doors opened on their wedding day, the crown fell silent and in awe which validated the tireless hours she spent on actualizing her vision. The guests even came up to her in praise throwing around big names to guess who her designer was. All humility aside, she just smiled and politely answered that it was made by yours truly.
Luckily, unlike most brides, Mariella did not turn into a Bridezilla given all the wedding stress all thanks to her loving and supportive husband, Daniel. They met through a common friend of theirs during a business meeting and Daniel was instantly mesmerized by Mariella's beauty. He then found a way to setup a business lunch that turned into their first date. After a few months of courting, they made it official after having dinner at Malaysia's Petronas Tower Revolving Restaurant which started their 9-year relationship. The marriage proposal later on took place in Vietnam at a Taj Mahal inspired hotel that Daniel carefully planned out.
According to Mariella, planning their wedding was unique because they embodied God's perfect love through their union. They wanted their wedding to depict who they were as a couple by including art, mirrors and diamonds during their reception held at The Peninsula Hotel and personalized every detail from their gown, suit, venue design and even down to the menu.
To sum it up, this day was a celebration of Mariella's two greatest loves – her husband and her craft.
