The best wedding is one filled with personal details about the bride, groom and their families. Just like how Angelina Jolie got Atelier Versace to embellish her veil with her children's drawings, here are more ways you can personalise your special day.
1. Share your love story on the invitation card
Most of your wedding guests may not how you met and fell in love. How about sharing a little bit about your history on the invitation card? If you're not so eloquent, even a flow chart or fun diagram will do!
2. Serve your favourite drink or dish
Have some fun with the menu by adding your favourite cocktail or lager, and food that you personally love like a cheese library or doughnut bar! You could even get the family involved by baking a delicious sugee cake or cookies.
3. Ride into the reception
Yes, some hotels in Singapore do allow trishaws and motorcycles into the ballroom. And if your wedding is near the water's edge, how about riding the waves in a speedboat or paddle-boat?
4. Include special family heirlooms
"Something old" doesn't necessarily have to be worn. You could adorn your ring pillow or bridal bouquet with many little trinkets from members of the family. This way everyone has a special part to play in your big day.
5. Photos help break the ice
Aside from your pre-wedding album, do display framed photos (including old family portraits) around the reception area and cocktail tables. They are always a great conversation starter and ice-breaker!
6. Personalise your outfits
A cheaper alternative to a Donatella Versace gown is a Ted Wu creation. The Singaporean bridal coutourier is well-known for cleverly embroidering special details like a family crest, initials or illustrations, onto your gown or suit.
