He's dropped on one knee and you've said yes to the ring. So when's the wedding? Before you get carried away with planning the ceremony, tying down a date will save you a lot of hassle down the road. Here are five useful factors to setting your perfect date!
An easy date to remember
A foolproof way to select your special day would be to choose one that is already important to you. The anniversary of your relationship, first date, or the day of your engagement all make memorable dates to set your wedding on.Some couples also opt for numerically significant dates such as 1/6/16 or 11/11. Also, make sure to check any special days in the family — you don't want your wedding clashing with a relative's!
Work around the weather
While we do not have the luxury of four seasons in tropical Singapore, there are definitely months with better weather, and months you should avoid. If high temperatures bother you, keep away from April, the warmest month of the year! However, April and May has the bluest skies, which are perfect for photos. The haze season strikes between June to September, when you might want to avoid outdoor weddings. November is a popular for weddings, but it is also the wettest month with heavy rainfall. Check the forecast if you are holding an outdoor wedding to avoid showers and storms from dampening your mood.

Auspicious dates or holidays — Christmas, New Year's Eve, and especially Valentine's Day — may sound romantic and joyous, but holding your wedding on these days could set you back a pretty penny. If you are on a budget, consider having your wedding on weekdays instead of weekends to avoid peak charges!

Make sure to leave enough time to coordinate your wedding. Most couples usually take about a year to plan the ceremony, including choosing the gown and booking the vendors. Also, avoid choosing a period when work will be hectic, such as the end of a fiscal year. You can coincide your ceremony with your holidays so that a honeymoon can follow right after!
