Romantic Elopement in Ubud

Few months back, we received an email from an American photographer, Audra Wrisley, asking if we would like to collaborate in a photo shoot in Bali. Together with her husband they were due to travel to Indonesia for their holidays and thought to tie it in with a small styled shoot. I loved Audra’s idea of staging it in a secluded place in a jungle, so of course we said YES! Pelangi Estate, a beautiful riverside villa, surrounded by lush greenery, was the ideal backdrop for tropical bohemian styled photos. Brass vases, oil lamps turned into candle sticks, a loosely draped silk table cloth combined with tropical flowers and plants in pastels created a very soft and elegant, yet still bohemian look. But the best part of the story is yet to come. Our models, Magda & Alex, were a real couple who got engaged a couple of month before the shoot. They flew all the way from Thailand to take part in our project. They were completely blown away by the venue and the overall styling. In a spur of a moment they’ve decided to get married for real, in a commitment ceremony carried out by a local priest. It was a challenge to find a celebrant with 2 hour notice, especially in high wedding season, but it was just meant to be. It was an emotional moment to watch Magda & Alex tie the knot. With no time to prepare vows, we knew their words came from their hearts. Their commitment was the most romantic wedding we’ve all ever witnessed. Here is a small selection of photos from this amazing day.
