Mangulosi in Batak culture is the tradition of giving Ulos, a traditional Batak woven cloth, to the bride and groom as a symbol of love, blessings, and protection from their parents and closest relatives. It is a sacred procession in a wedding, symbolizing blessings for a marriage filled with happiness, health, and harmony. The Ulos chosen is usually Ulos Ragidup, a cloth that reflects hope for a long life, abundant love, and sufficient sustenance. When the Ulos is draped over the shoulders of the bride and groom, it conveys a message of warmth, protection, and strength to surround them in their married life.
