When Glamour Meets Nature at Sky Garden, Ayana Bali
by Erika Gerdemark Photography

Updated on 14 April 2015

As the couple love story began in Japan, (and both of them are of Japanese heritage), I knew their wedding would have to incorporate some Japanese elements. When I saw their prewedding pictures and understood that they both love the beautiful sceneries of Japan, I drew my inspiration for their wedding from the iconic Japanese scenery with Mount Fuji and blooming Sakura. Hence, the wedding color palette was made up of light blue to represent the clear blue sky, white for the snow on top of Mount Fuji, and hints of pink for the blushing Sakura blossoms. It's probably meant to be as Light Blue is actually the groom's favourite color, whereas White and Pink are the bride's favourite. Last but not least, Japan is also known as the land of rising sun, so we included rows of chandeliers in the midst of the tropical paradise of Bali which essentially combining glamour and nature together, just what the couple envisioned for their wedding. This wedding was so beautiful I could hear the guests gasped with awe. But more importantly, the wedding was so special because there were many personal touches to the wedding. In the morning of the wedding day, the hotel staffs served fresh fruit together with a mini magazine which described the love story of the couple. On the wedding dinner reception itself, there were special performances from people who were closest to the couple which made the otherwise big and lavish wedding felt so close and personal. The speeches were spoken from the heart, and a very funny video created by the groom's family became the highlight of the evening. As the moments evolved, people laughed, and cried, and laughed again. And as the night concluded people were impressed with how beautiful and memorable the wedding was.
