Wedding Photography - Jess & Dave
by Designlane

Updated on 27 October 2015, Mindarriba House

Wrapping up our wedding season for last year was Jess and Dave. They chose the most beautiful location to get married and we were so lucky to have it as our backdrop for the day. Mindarriba House is just gorgeous and the perfect spot for Jess and Dave's intimate wedding with all of their nearest and dearest. With Lara on ‘light duties’ as she looks after her handsome new little man Will, I was incredibly lucky to have had the amazing Alanna from Alanna Kate Photography helping me out for the day. I could not have done it without her! We had the best day hanging out with the cheeky bridal party (or should I say Groomsmen) who were always up for a laugh and made the day so much fun and we really found ourselves feeling part of the celebration. One part of photographing weddings that I love is getting to know more about the bride and groom through the people who know them best during the speeches. Jess and Dave are such a gorgeous couple and from listening to what everyone had to say, you can easily see that they are such a great match. They are a couple who are truly best friends and will spend the rest of their lives being able to love and laugh together. Jess styled the whole day herself from her amazing dress to the venue. Her attention to detail was amazing and there wasn’t one thing that wasn’t thought of. It was important for Jess and Dave to have a wedding that reflected them and their style (well at least Jess’s) and involved suppliers and items that had meaning or played some part in their lives. From their custom designed stationery by Jess and Dave's amazingly talented friend, Ana Zrnic (AZ Designs) that included a logo that paid respect to both of their family names, Lantry and Broughton. To having the pleasure of being married by Father Brian Mascord, a close friend of the Lantry family who has been involved in many of their important family events. So many special things were included in the day that held so much meaning. I absolutely loved the timeless china tea cups and saucers that Jess’s Nanna, Patricia, has collected over her lifetime. And the silver wine goblets that David’s Mum, Josie, and Dad, John, used at their wedding and have since passed down to each of their children to use at their weddings. Towards the end of the night Jess enjoyed an extra special drink of aged scotch that her Grandfather bought for his bar many years ago. This was obviously a moment that they will both remember forever and it was so lovely that we were able to capture it. We had such a fantastic day. As we left, the dance floor was packed with the guests being treated to the amazing sounds of Crocq (One of Dave's friends from High School) and I knew the night just getting started. It was a great way to end our year of weddings and we are really looking forward to getting back into it with our first wedding of the year in less than a week!.
