Water babies and diving enthusiasts, Zi Yi from Singapore and Sakiko from Japan took their celebration to the beaches of Boracay, Philippines, where a nautical-themed wedding amongst the sand and sea marked the start of their life together.
"We really wanted a beach wedding and Boracay has always been on our minds. Coming from two different countries, we decided to invite 100 family and friends to this amazing island. Shangri-La was ideal because it has a private beach with the perfect ambience," explains Zi Yi.
Opening with a dance-in by the wedding entourage, the ceremony was nothing short of heartwarming as the pair exchanged their handwritten vows, closing with a symbolic pouring of sand to signify their inseparable union.
In line with the nautical theme, table settings were dressed in blue and white with striped details, and props were emblazoned with anchor motifs and buoys. There was even an elaborate sandcastle built for the occasion, and a boat printed with the couple's names on the sail.
An entertaining dinner reception followed – fire dancers, bridesmaids, and the newlyweds themselves took turns to shine on stage. A highlight of the evening was the screening of the day's events and prep work edited by local shutterbugs Bordoy Viterbo Photography.
