Long-time friends, Bayu and Wisputra had often shared their ideas about the artistic and business aspects of wedding photography. In April 2015, they finally agreed to team up by establishing Punyan Photography. Their philosophy is reflected in the name "punyan" itself, which means "tree" in Balinese. "We hoped that our company will grow bigger, just like a tree," said Bayu.
Their hope came true, as Punyan Photography has grown to a great extent throughout the years. "The wedding industry is unique and challenging. We have to learn how to handle clients and help them pose in photos," said Bayu. Above everything else, they strive to maintain a strong chemistry between photographer and client. "We try to build good relationship so that the couples we work with become our friends, more than just clients," he continued.
Their personal approach turned out to be successful, as the duo have even ventured outside of Bali for a number of pre-wedding and wedding projects. In the future, they are planning to organize a workshop for aspiring wedding photographers. After seeing their beautiful portfolio, we have no doubt that their class will leave every participant inspired.
