Co-founder of Pi Calligraphy, Shervi started doing calligraphy as a hobby when she was an architecture student. "I've always wanted to work on something that I'm passionate about. After getting my first calligraphy job, I got addicted and kept yearning for more projects," shared Shervi. Luckily, she soon met Renaldy through a calligraphy community in Bali. After one year of working together, the two decided to establish their own calligraphy and design company in 2016.
Going beyond paper stationery, Shervi and Renaldy often create calligraphy on unusual materials such as glass, mirrors, wood, stones, and marble. "Renaldy is currently studying Graphic Design, and he's great on both manual and digital calligraphy. Meanwhile, I specialize in hand-drawn designs," said Shervi. Having different skills enables the pair to be open to many different ideas and requests. "Our commitment is to fulfill each couple's wishes and we are confident in keeping our signature style intact," she continued.
Shervi and Renaldy's commitment and talent were tested when they worked on a three-day Indian wedding in 2015. "Each night had a different theme, so it was fun, challenging, and exhausting at the same time. We had to handwrite all of the quotes and illustrations in sync. By the next morning, we had to erase them all and move on to a different theme. However, our efforts were all worth it in the end," she reminisced.
