Who knew that a college assignment could lead you to find an entirely different passion? As an architecture student, Dewi Kocu often created miniature architectural models using scissors and cutters. This experience soon inspired her to learn more about paper cutting, an ancient art that has been practiced in China since the 6th century. Soon after, Dewi decided to establish Cutteristic in 2011.
As a pioneering paper artist in Indonesia, Dewi always strives to create beautiful artworks for every occasion. "Paper cutting can be applied to various types of products and materials including food, fashion, decoration, furniture, and many more," said Dewi. As her customers have proven over the years, paper-cut art by Cutteristic is also suitable for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, even weddings.
Dewi particularly enjoys the harmonious combination of modern design and traditional Indonesian patterns, such as batik, in her artwork. However, she's more than willing to create unique, completely personalized designs based on her customer's requests and preferences. From intricate invitations to stunning cake toppers, every wedding detail is carefully crafted using high quality paper.
