If you feel that a wedding isn't the place you'd be able to meet your soulmate, think again. That is exactly what happened to Mira and Marthin. The two had met for the first time at their friend's after party, even though Mira couldn't see Marthin's appearance due to the dim lights. "Marthin offered me a glass of water, I was shocked since couldn't see him!" recalled Mira. A day after the event, the two connected via Instagram's direct message and met a month later to make their relationship official.
For the proposal, Marthin preferred to do it the traditional way. Instead of getting on one knee to propose to Mira, he came to propose her at her house instead. Accompanied by his parents, he braved himself and uttered his intentions to take his girlfriend's hand in marriage in front of her parents. They proceeded to plan the wedding for 10 months, secure the venue and vendors first, then go through all the details after.
"The stardust theme was inspired by what I saw in Bridestory's Instagram about the current wedding trend," explained Mira, "it was perfect because I've always loved astronomy since I was little." A starry evening was what Mira and Marthin were greeted with during the reception. They were surrounded by twinkling lights and exceptional decoration using shades of blue flowers. "I love the ceiling decoration at my wedding reception," confessed Mira when being asked which part of the wedding she loved most.
Another part of the wedding that the bride couldn't get enough of was her wedding dresses. Her first dress for the holy matrimony ceremony was a mermaid cut with sets of cymbidium flower petals around the chest and hips. For the reception, it was transformed into an enchanting ball gown by adding a big fluffy skirt attachment. "Another thing that made my wedding extra special was that my close friend Claire flew all the way from San Francisco to sing our favorite song during the wedding," said Mira.
A bit of advice that Mira would like to offer to future brides and grooms is to not wait for others to help you prepare your wedding. Prepare until the littlest tiny detail, she suggested.
