Aswin and Cynthia first met in elementary school and have been 'going out' ever since. "He saw me and asked our mutual friends to introduce us," Cynthia recalled. Even though it might seem like it was puppy love, their relationship lasted through high school, even college. Despite of breaks in between their relationship due to long distance, at the end of the day they got back together and in 2016, he proposed during a trip to Sydney, with the sunset of Harbor Bridge as their witness.
After a year of wedding planning and a simple yet elegant pre-wedding photo session, a glamorous wedding was underway. Expressing her personal style, she went with two different looks for the big day. "For the morning look, the inspiration was a gothic yet modern style with a cocoon plain white dress, a beaded vest and long Victorian style sleeves. I wanted a classic and simple wedding dress for our blessing ceremony and I personally think this is perfectly done," Cynthia shared. Her reception dress though, was even better than her imagination. "For the reception, I can say this is more me. A modern, fun, eccentric look unlike other wedding dresses. I feel like a salsa dancer with the ruffled sleeves and the chandelier earrings as well as hairdo completed the whole ensemble perfectly," she added.
With the help of Suryanto and Lotus Decor, the couple successfully turned the foyer of The Ritz Carlton, Pacific Place into a serene white room with flowers. The ballroom however, was a whole different story. "I wanted to create a distinctive, dramatic look so when people came in from the foyer they would experience an element of surprise and drama," explained Cynthia. The combination of dramatic berry-colored flower clusters arranged like a mountain, crystal drops hanging from the ceiling, and LED bulbs arranged in circular motion created a truly contrasting sight that was truly eye-catching.
Even though the wedding was perfectly executed, Cynthia did share some of her thoughts regarding her wedding planning phase. "Don't wait until the last minute. I honestly regretted postponing things and not plan everything ahead of time. Make a deadline and allocate your time wisely. Also, don't forget to watch your health and have proper sleep so you look fresh on the day," said the beautiful bride.
