Angga and Stephanie were one of those high-school sweethearts who went separate ways, only to get reunited once again. "We were best friends back in high school. We had lost contact, but one day we reconnected and met a few times before starting a relationship. After dating for a while, he proposed to me on my birthday," Stephanie reminisced.
As Angga's family is from Solo, the pair decided to have their wedding there. "We wanted a venue that would be suitable for our garden heritage-themed wedding," Stephanie explained. Luckily, they discovered Warisan Heritage Resort & Resto, a stunning resort inspired by traditional Javanese houses.
Aside from the venue and decorations, one thing that we really loved about the wedding was how the couple's decisions truly showed their personality. Stephanie, for instance, decide to forgo high heels and wear a pair of embroidered flats by Saptodjojokartiko instead. "Heels are too exhausting! Your wedding happens once in a lifetime, so don't be too hard on yourself," Stephanie said. The couple also chose to have their wedding outdoors, despite the rainy season. "It was quite a reckless decision, I would say. Yet it was so bright and clear on our wedding day, without a single drop of rain!" Stephanie added.
Even throughout the wedding planning, a rather difficult time for most couples, Stephanie and Angga had a great time. "Wedding planning was so exciting! Because we combined two traditions, Chinese and Javanese, we got to know each other better," Stephanie said. For the bride, the sense of togetherness was what she loved the most about her wedding. "We got to see family members from other cities, it certainly was a heartwarming moment," Stephanie added.
