The wedding dress of the American actress Grace Kelly, later known as Princess of Monaco, is cited as one of the most elegant bridal gown of all time. Designed in the 50's by Helen Rose, the costumer of MGM studio, from 125-year-old Valenciennes rose-point lace, silk taffeta and 98 yards of tulle. The long-sleeved dress took more than a dozen seamstresses six weeks to complete. 2. Princess Aimée of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven-Söhngen

The wedding dress worn by the bride of Prince Floris was designed by Lidy de Joode. The dress had unadorned body, high and jewel neckline, long sleeves, and luxurious thick silk Mikado fabric. The slim skirt rested underneath an overskirt that split from the front of the waist and extended back to a wide long train.

3. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden

The day Crown Princess Victoria from Sweden walked down the aisle, she wore a wedding gown with such clean and modern look. It was not heavy on the embellishment. Designed by Swedish designer, Par Engsheden, it was made of cream duchess silk satin – with the rounded collar, nearly off the shoulder and 5 meters train. It was a nice compromise between the required modesty and summer weather.

4. Princess Claire of Luxembourg

The former Claire Lademarcher married her prince in a stunning wedding gown by Elie Saab. She waltzed in with the ivory-colored silk intricately embroidered with floral-patterned Chantilly lace and glimmering silver thread. The picture-perfect gown was completed by a pair of sparkling diamond earrings, believed to be the same ones worn by the Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa on their wedding days, complemented the stunning headpiece.

5. Princess Stephanie De Lannoy, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg

Another Luxembourg Royal Wedding was awash with sparkling sequins number by Elie Saab. The Lebanese designer showcased his talent with a bespoke ivory lace embroidered with silver thread leaves, along with a vast four-meter train. The flattering A-line hem was set off by a fitted bodice that enhanced Princess Stephanie's petite frame, whilst a skirt embossed with 80,000 transparent crystals spread upon the steps as she walked up to the cathedral in Luxembourg.

6. Princess Madeleine of Sweden

Princess Madeleine of Sweden looked unbelievably breathtaking in her Valentino wedding dress. The dress was fashioned from pleated silk organza with appliqued ivory-hued Chantilly lace, with bateau neck line. Talking about working with Princess Madeleine, Mr. Valentino said it had been "just so easy. She is a very lovely girl. She is modern, full of energy and enthusiasm, and she is so beautiful! It has been a pleasure and an honour."

7. Princess Charlene of Monaco

On her wedding day to Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene looked gracious with her Armani dress. It was made from 50 meters of off-white silk duchess, 80 meters of silk organza, and 2,500 hours of work. 40,000 Swarivski crystals was embroidered down the front, skirt and the center of the train, along with 20,000 mother of pearl teardrops, and 30,000 gold stones all in floral pattern with platinum-coated thread completed in 700 hours.

8. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

The royal it-girl turned to Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen to create the dress for her wedding to Prince William and it resulted in the most talked royalty wedding dress ever. The ivory satin bodice was padded at the hips and narrowed at the waist. It incorporated floral motifs cut, then appliquéd on to the tulle. On the back of the sensational dress, there were 58 buttons of silk gazar and organza. The future queen of England finished the look with a fingertip veil of ivory silk tulle with an embroidered lace edge and of course the dazzling Halo Scroll tiara.
