Karen Tran truly is the leading lady in floral and event design. For more than 23 years, she's been helping couples achieve their dream weddings and create memories of a lifetime. She's known for her ability that can transform spaces and fill them with the most exquisite and grand floral arrangements. She has also shared her ever-blossoming passion for flowers with aspiring florists and event designers through her Master Floral classes offered worldwide.

"To uplift and educate fellow florists all over the world is my mission. I want to inspire them to be creative and business-savvy at the same time, so they can have products that are sellable and profitable," says the mogul. During a class she held in Bali in May 2015, she showed the participants how to decorate spaces with a combination of local and imported flowers. "I see how Indonesians celebrate weddings and other significant events. It is all about family, love, and joy, and the culture has such a great appreciation for flowers. Especially because Indonesia is blessed with the most impressive varieties of local flowers, I think Indonesian florists will have bright futures if they also have the knowledge to get their products to the right market."

To support that vision, Tiara Josodirdjo & Associates (TJA) hosted an elegant high-tea event during Karen's brief visit to Jakarta. Karen also collaborated with local florists, Stupa Caspea and Flora Lines Decoration to give a glimpse of her magic touch. She turned the Presidential Suite Room at the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place Jakarta into a flower-filled area, using purple and magenta orchids as well as jasmine and local ferns.

Now, her success story, experience, and knowledge have bloomed into a 208-page book titled Wedding Flower. This book is the perfect visual guide to create the ideal mood and ambience for any kind of event with creative floral arrangement ideas. "The upcoming trend in floral arrangement is unusual placements that are out of the ordinary. Like a wall of flowers, flowers hanging from the ceilings or even dropping from tables with various layers and levels," she says on floral decoration trends.

At her Jakarta book launch event, Karen also shares a bit on what readers can get from her book. "This book showcases my most memorable projects, as well as advice and tips on creating the perfect arrangement. If you have a limited budget on flowers, for example, I would suggest concentrating them in a focal point, instead of spreading them. You can see a pictorial guide for this in Wedding Flower." So if you're a future bride, an aspiring wedding or event designer, or simply a flower aficionado, you have to get your hands on this amazing book and be inspired!
