With an insane schedule of TV hosting, magazine shoots and work junkets, former pageant runner-up and fashion blogger Jade Seah had very little time to plan her wedding. So she left all the heavy lifting to husband-to-be, Terence Lim, who she calls "hardworking, determined and extremely single-minded!"
The day kicked off with a ceremony at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, followed by buffet lunch for 300 guests. Jade was the image of perfection in custom-made, vintage-inspired gowns by Calla Bridal and Time Taken to Make a Dress. "I worked with Love, Bonito to design the bridesmaids' dresses. I knew I wanted a textured fabric in dove grey, but I gave the girls free reign to choose a style that flattered their physiques. I was really happy with the end result!" says Jade.
The lunch venue was filled with pastel blooms from Fiore Dorato, including a luscious canopy of orchids that hung from beams decorated with paper lanterns. To build an English garden-cum-carnival atmosphere — popcorn and candy floss makers, a giant L-O-V-E sign, and a whimsical dessert table with a rainbow wedding cake by Pixie Dust Events were brought in. We liked how they incorporated our official hashtag #terryjade2015 into a customised sign to remind everyone to post and tag. "It was great fun going through all photos after the wedding," she gushes. A fan of rock music, Jade engaged veteran crooner Gerard Danker to perform rock-and-roll classics.
At their intimate dinner for 150 at Chijmes, the atmosphere took a more elegant turn with a creamy palette for the décor, which included a giant, fluorescent L-O-V-E sign from IM-Perfection, and Jade's flapper-inspired dove-grey gown from Calla Bridal. The newly-weds marched in to a beautiful rendition of the song Terence proposed with, performed by Jade's cousin, Clare Ee.
