An Urban Rustic Wedding in Minneapolis

"I'm sure everyone says this, but our wedding was absolutely perfect," said Danielle. Held at the Lowertown Event Center, their limestone walls, exposed wood beam ceilings and the couple's eucalyptus and candle decoration gave this wedding the vibe they had aimed for. "I really wanted the vibe to romantic, earthy, with an urban-rustic feel," Danielle recalled.

Even the weather gave the couple its blessing. "August in Minnesota is usually like 90 degrees, humid, and with lots of thunderstorms, so we really lucked out with a gorgeous, partly-sunny, 80-some degree day," she said. Despite the stress of narrowing down guest list and morning preparations, everything went off without a hitch. "My absolute favorite part from the wedding was the dance floor. Everyone was out there and really letting loose, which made for such a fun ending to an amazing day," she gushed.

Their laid-back wedding seemed to us as the perfect depiction of their personality. "Steve and I both have pretty hectic schedules so we took time every weekend to drive without any specific destination and just talk, catch up on each other's weeks, basically spending time together. We call it our weekly cruise, which usually results in us getting lost, admiring houses and eating McDonald's," said the bride. It was also during one such trips that Steve finally proposed to Danielle.

On 2016 the couple went on a short trip to Duluth. "Honestly, I was a bit suspicious. But the day of the trip Steve as so calm and collected that I figured it wasn't happening," Danielle said. They then visited the Enger Tower, where they 'stumbled' upon a blanket covered in rose petals, a bucket with champagne and glasses, and a sign that said, 'Danielle, will you marry me?'. And the rest was history. "The funniest thing is that when Steve suggested we go that weekend, proposing wasn't even part of the plan. He didn't decide to do it until the Thursday before and bought the ring on Friday," said Danielle.

She also gives a tip for every brides-to-be to not to sweat the small stuffs. "Every wedding is going to have its mishaps, but it's how you handle them that will really make or break you big day," she said. Add the photos of their wedding to your inspiration board to start planning your own big day!
