Here goes a beautiful wedding which details were inspired by recollections of the couple's love journey! The bride's love for free diving led her to travel around Indonesia and once she made her stop at Sumba, she wasn't only captured by the island's underwater landscapes, but also got the chance to meet Jonathan for the first time. At the moment Jonathan, or Yon, was actively campaigning for Humba Ailulu, a moral movement expressing love for Sumba Island. "So, their mutual friends suggested that Yon accompanied Audrey during her stay," said the photographer from Kinema Studios. Some trips later, they were drawn to one another and dated despite the distance. "Long distance wasn't an obstacle for them. Jakarta-Waingapu was easily conquered and eventually they planned to be together forever through marriage," the photographer added.
For a celebration that described the couple's personality and love journey, it was a natural choice to hold their wedding in Segarra Seaside Escape. With such nautical setting, the venue paid homage to the bride's love for the sea and also felt like home for their guests who came all the way from Sumba. To even more enhance the authentic Sumba ambience, they infused ikat into their wedding reception elements, from table runners to the couple's own wedding attires! As the fabrics are vibrant and beautiful on its own, it didn't take too much work to style it as wedding decoration, photo booth backdrop and bridal party attires. And of course, the natural colors and patterns of the fabric were such a perfect match for the oceanfront venue.
The photographer also shared a bit of what it was like becoming part of the wedding, "The celebration was held in a simple way and was only attended by intimate relatives and close friends. We truly need more weddings like this in Jakarta. It was an honor for us to be able to document this beautiful festivity."
