Not hiring a wedding planner was not something that Chianty and Fauzi was terrified of. The couple who met two years ago at a hip cafe in South Jakarta were certain that without one, everyone could still have a great time and everything will run perfectly. Of course, Chianty's experience in organizing events came into hand as well. The planning process itself didn't take long to prepare, as the two had set their mind on having an intimate wedding instead. It only took them four months to prepare the perfect rustic garden themed rooftop wedding.
"We are always huge fans of something natural and minimalist. Also, what inspired me the most is our family. We focused on creating an intimate atmosphere for all my guests," she said. Chianty did all of the preparations by herself with a little help from family and friends. She even made the tail of her wedding reception dress herself, just a day before her wedding. Her perfectionist trait proved to be a challenge when she had to repeatedly revise her wedding invitation, but she believed that with a big effort leads to having what she always wanted.
"I actually lost my veil the night before the D-day. Can you imagine? Me and one of my bridesmaids had to go out at 2 AM in the morning to find it!" recalled the bride. Nevertheless, the wedding day turned out to be as magical as the two lovebirds had hoped for.
Chianty's unique bridal dresses for her holy matrimony and reception quickly became the center of attention. "Since the beginning, I wished to be a non-traditional bride. I never imagined of a puffy or a princess-like gown," she confessed. Having a particular taste, her designer-friend, Trisna Husodo, successfully made her dream coming true: a silver satin dress with loosen puffy shoulders in classic cut and buttons application.
For the reception, the crafty bride decided to create her wedding dress from scratch. She chose the fabric and brought it to a tailor, and embellished every small details on the dress herself. "I was inspired by nature and romance. My dress focuses on minimalist cut and light. I created the unique back details and flat necklines, as well as the playful cape and a hugging fishtail detail. Through this dress, I want to celebrate the female silhouette and enhance my unique individuality," explained Chianty. She also complimented the touch of her long back necklace from Tea Label Wedding, which perfected her overall appearance.
"Do everything that you want to do on your wedding day. Remember, it's your special day. Prioritize your wishes and your partner's and make your family comfortable," advised the bride for all couples who are planning their wedding. "You will marry to your husband, not to the wedding event. Thus, don't let yourself drowning in the process."
