Shabrina and Dana are both doctors, so it's only fitting that their first meeting happened in the emergency room. "Back then, I was a medical student and Dana was pursuing his medical specialty training," reminisced Shabrina. Nothing happened, however, until their next meeting when she had already graduated and become a doctor herself. After courting Shabrina for some time, Dana went to her parents to propose. "Instead of going down on one knee, he went to my parents with a 'proposal' of our future plans together. To me, it was a very sweet surprise," said Shabrina.
The couple had around 10 months to plan their nuptials. Despite her hectic schedule, Shabrina went all out on the wedding planning—she even prepared a presentation deck and mood board for all the vendors! As she had always wanted to get married at home, Shabrina worked extra hard to make sure that everything would run smoothly. "I thought about everything. The valet parking, access, tents, hallways, even the wedding stage covering our swimming pool," she said.
When the wedding day finally came, the talented decorator, Stupa Caspea magically transformed Shabrina's home into a lush garden filled with pastel-colored flowers. "They really brought my dream wedding to life. Everything was just as I had always dreamed of," she said. Shabrina herself had three modest wedding dresses to wear throughout the day. An all-white kebaya dress was worn during the wedding ceremony, and Shabrina changed twice for the daytime and nighttime receptions. "Irlanaperle did wonders with my dresses and they suited the pastel color palette as well," said the beautiful bride.
For other brides still planning their wedding, Shabrina threw in some advice that most people overlook. "The most important part of wedding planning is you," she said, "Take good care of your health and stay fit until the wedding day. If possible, sign up for pre-marital health check-ups and seminars to be fully prepared for the marriage."
