Although Paul and Karen grew up in the States, they had the opportunity to work in Singapore for a couple of years, where they got engaged. They held a simple solemnisation at the White Rabbit, and a year later threw a wedding reception back home, both photographed by Joshua Sim of The Beautiful Moment Photography.
The couple hosted a luncheon for 100 guests in a quaint greenhouse at the colonial-styled Madison Hotel in New Jersey. Filled with natural daylight, luscious greenery and dramatic crystal chandeliers, little decoration was needed to spruce up the place. Decoration was predominantly DIY and the bride's mother even baked a wedding cake.
What was really interesting about this wedding were the culturally-diverse proceedings. Paul is of Korean heritage while Karen is from mainland China. So the colourful event came complete with a traditional Chinese gate crashing, tea ceremony and Korean Paebaek ceremony.
"The wedding was gorgeous, fun and filled with so much love and emotion. Everyone had a great time tucking into the buffet and taking part in a mass dance. After that, we headed to an apple orchard to do some portraits, which was the perfect ending to a beautiful day," concludes Joshua.
