Kartika was introduced to Furia by her sister, 11 years ago. After one year of getting to know each other, the two eventually started dating. "Loving him felt like the most natural thing to me; everything seems so right whenever he's by my side," said Kartika. "We've had our fair share of joy, tribulations, and obstacles but we've always known that we have each other's heart," she continued.
It was at the garden of Eiffel Tower in Paris, where Kartika was studying patisserie, where Furia first asked for her hand in marriage. When the relationship reached its tenth anniversary, he proposed to her once again in their hometown. "That's when we finally decided to have a new beginning in our relationship, which is to start a family," said the beautiful bride.
Inspired by their romantic proposal in Paris, Kartika took visual references from French gardens and classic American designs for her wedding in Bali. "We wanted David Austin roses, blush shades with a touch of gold, chandeliers—simple yet elegant elements," Kartika explained. A soft dusty blue color was also incorporated to the wedding color palette to create a beautiful composition.
As a self-confessed perfectionist, Kartika carefully selected vendors who she knew could keep up with her high expectations. "Without all of them, the wedding wouldn't be as beautiful as it was," said the gorgeous bride. In only four months, they managed to put every wedding element together in perfect harmony. "The wedding invitation suite set the whole tone of the wedding. We had greyish blue envelopes, blush wax seals, blush ribbons, and many other wedding elements with the same theme and color palette," explained Kartika.
The wedding day itself turned out peacefully and beautifully. "The wedding was not as extravagant as the ones held in Jakarta, but it was perfect for us and our 160 guests," said Kartika. Furia even overcame his shyness to sing a song for Kartika while playing the piano. "Meanwhile, his favorite part was when his nieces performed a choreographed dance for us. We also had a sweet surprise from his siblings, who sang a lovely song especially for us," she reminisced.
